Porsche 959 was my top childhood dream car. That is why it goes the first. When released, Porsche 959 was the fastest legal road car in the world and even later when Ferrari F40 took the title by a slim margin, the 959 still was miles better in departments of comfort and usability.
Even though Porsche 959 was one of the most expensive cars at the time, in the end, the factory was loosing money on every car. Nevertheless, 959 served as a technological experiment and many of the inventions made it to later 911sa and other models.
Bill Gates who has always been a keen Porsche fan bought the 959 and shipped it to USA, however he was not able to use it on the road initially, because 959 was not street legal in U.S. due to emissions regulations and also because Porsche refused to give away a car for crash testing.
